In 2012, Nebulous Design once again had the privilege of collaborating with Chevron on a significant project. This time, our task was to design two office floors within the iconic World Trade Centre in Iraq. The Principal Architect embarked on a two-day journey with the contractor, passionately sharing his vision for the expansive 21,000 sq.ft space. This collaborative approach fostered a deep understanding of Chevron’s specific requirements, allowing our team to translate the company’s identity into a physical environment.
Given the challenging circumstances of civil unrest in the country, we had to leverage our global network to source the necessary materials. Raw materials and office furniture were imported, with electrical components sourced from Turkey, and partitions, workstations, and carpets carefully selected from Taiwan.
Recognizing the paramount importance of safety in such a volatile environment, Chevron went above and beyond by engaging a specialized blast consultant from London. With the consultant’s expertise, we meticulously incorporated the recommended safety measures into our design, ensuring that the office space could withstand potential threats.
The Chevron office within the World Trade Centre stands as a testament to our ability to deliver exceptional results even in complex and demanding environments. Through our collaborative approach, global sourcing capabilities, and unwavering commitment to safety, we transformed the space into a secure, functional, and aesthetically pleasing workplace that reflects Chevron’s brand and values.
